Project Overview
Every year, Closetmaid participates in the International Builder’s Show (IBS) with a booth that represents the company and showcases some of our most popular products.
These past few shows, I’ve had the pleasure of working on designing and setting up our tradeshow booth. For these shows, I worked with The Trade Show Group to provide measurements, mood boards, vignette renders, and an identity to the vignettes.

Wood Finishes
A key area of the booth was the wood finishes display wall showing off the differences between the different grains for the two wood closet systems. Having physical samples of the finishes provided something visually appealing for guests to interact with.
Vignette Renderings
Using schematics supplied by the Trade Group, we planned graphics and product configurations that would fill the vignettes.
Visualization
To make the vignettes feel more lived in, I was tasked as the set decorator for the four different products. For this specific task, I was given a section view of the product configuration and an overall aesthetic for each. I was then able to plan a color scheme, layout, and shop for the props that fit the given space.
Originally, this vignette was going to be kitchen themed. As ClosetMaid developed new products, the product shown changed to their newest line: FastFinish. This vignette was something that we’ve never done before: show a comparison of our product versus a competitor’s. This specific vignette required me to find two different types of props for one scene; an unfinished closet compared to a fully thought-out and built closet.
